Make room for mushrooms!
There are many appetizing and beautiful Asian mushrooms you can find on the market, but do you know how to properly store them?
Here are the ways of storing different Asian mushroom at your home.
1. Straw Mushroom
Straw mushroom, or paddy straw mushroom, is the kind of East and Southeast Asian mushroom you either find fresh or brined on the Asian market.
It looks like the unpolished version of champignon mushroom.
If you happen to find it fresh, wrap it in a towel and put it inside a ziplock bag.
If you find it brined, just put it on the refrigerator along with its sealed pack.
2. Enoki Mushroom
The thin enoki mushroom can easily get damped and slimy since it resembles the form of thatch – tight and dense.
Make sure you dont store it in the humid part of your refrigerator.
In fact, store it in a plastic bag on the coldest place of your refrigerator.
To even prolong the shelf life, you can cut the root part that holds the mushroom together and put in on the dry kitchen paper before inserting the enoki to the plastic bag.
